Biography

Atiku Abubakar is a Nigerian businessman and politician who has contested the Nigerian presidency five times, making him the most persistent presidential candidate in Nigeria’s democratic history. He served as Vice President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 under President Olusegun Obasanjo. He built his business empire through Intels Nigeria, a logistics and petroleum services company, becoming one of Nigeria’s wealthiest individuals. In the 2023 presidential election he received 6,984,520 votes representing 28.9 percent, finishing second to Bola Tinubu.
