Biography

Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the Governor of Lagos State, having won both the 2019 and 2023 governorship elections under the All Progressives Congress. His administration has focused on infrastructure development, with the Blue Line rail system opening in 2023, the Lekki Deep Sea Port becoming operational, and the Fourth Mainland Bridge project announced. He won the 2023 governorship election with 762,134 votes. His administration navigated the aftermath of the October 2020 EndSARS protests, during which the Lekki toll gate incident occurred.
